Colour Level Adjustment

Posted on Tue 25th Oct, 2005, 9:37pm

ISO: 800, Shutter speed: 1/40, Aperture: f/2.8,
Camera: Canon EOS 20D, Flash: None, Cropping: Minor,
Lens: Canon EF 50mm f/1.8, Focal length: 50mm,
Captured: 18th October 2005, 7:01pm,

My apologies. I didn't take the camera out today because it rained and I didn't have a waterproof bag with me so this is one from a few days ago.

It's the building I work in. I should say right away that this photo is a bit of a copycat move and I should credit Chromasia because the inspiration came from one of his shots from a while back.

As I said before, the security guards at work are pretty quick to appear whenever I reach for my camera outside the building but I guess they're not so keen to leave the warmth of reception at night time.

I actually like the thumbnail for this shot. Even though it's just a smaller version of the pic you see above, it makes the main line of colour stand out more somehow. Dunno why.

Thanks mikhail. Like your site. The way the menu picks up the colours of the photo is cool.

The colours here are amazing! Superb photo once again.

I like the way you get the effect of a highlighted section of the photo, but without resorting to masking part of the picture in B/W, its great to be able to capture it naturally so to speak.Nice and sharp aswell, especially for a night-shoot:) I know what I mean even if it doesnt sound like it;)

Great shot - as Warspite says, good capture of colour. Pretty shartp DoF for f/2.8 too :) Does the colour theme extend throughout each floor?

Sadly not. The colours are only in the kitchen areas. The coloured bit in the bottom level of this photo can also be seen in the photo of the lift area from a few days back. It's the bit beyond the lifts.

We have drab 1970s Civil Service yellow dressed as 1990s beige...oh yes.

All the different colours in the shot are excellent. Certainly different to the drab of most office buildings. There is even an interesting looking ceiling. Kind of strange how the windows on top of each other are lit and none of the others are.
