Memorial

Posted on Tue 8th Nov, 2005, 7:37pm

ISO: 100, Shutter speed: 1/15, Aperture: f/5.6,
Camera: Canon EOS 20D, Flash: None, Cropping: None,
Lens: Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 EX DC, Focal length: 40mm,
Captured: 8th November 2005, 3:38pm,

Most of the benches in the park near work have memorial plates on them. This one has the memorial carved into it and it's for a young boy, presumably put in place by his parents.

I didn't note down the full text but it says something like 'He loved raspberries, Scooby and the colour green. A much loved, sweet boy.' Then it has carvings of raspberry bushes at either end and on the left there's a carving of Batman, on the right a carving of Spiderman, as you can see above.

It stands out from the other benches and it's facing the children's play area. I think I might go back and take a picture of the Batman carving for tomorrow's blog entry.

Also, as an aside, my friend Rich has started his photoblog today. Go visit.

This is rather touching! Good you told us something about the background of this shot!

That's brought a big lump to my throat. That's so sad.

Nice shot of a very poignant subject.
