Fleurveillance

Posted on Fri 20th Oct, 2006, 12:31am

ISO: 400, Shutter speed: 1/25, Aperture: f/5.6,
Camera: Canon EOS 20D, Flash: Yes, Cropping: None,
Lens: Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L, Focal length: 35mm,
Captured: 18th October 2006, 6:09pm,

Sorry, I just reeeally wanted to use a pun for the title and that's the only one I could manage this close to bedtime (said the vicar to the... Oh, never mind).

I walk past this camera every day but I'd never noticed it before. Whether the flowers were added recently or not I don't know but for some reason I noticed it this time and decided to take some shots.

I started out processing it fairly straight and in colour but it wasn't working for me so I did this, which I like much more.

Really interesting processing. Makes this a unique shot.

Fleurveillance....hmmm! Despite the subject it's a fine art shot - down to the toning and there's a certain elegance in the stance of the camera. Quite something & great work.

Very nice Jamey. It puts a strong message across. Like the overlay, is it one of your own? I've started a library of my own textures, you get some funny looks when people see you photographing walls.

Jamey, Fri 20th Oct, 2006, 12:29pm
Jon - yes, it's one of my own (well, two actually). And I agree. I took a lot of texture shots in Berlin and Munich and you certainly get some funny looks off people :)

Nice one. Where did you get the texture from?

Jamey, Fri 20th Oct, 2006, 2:30pm
One of the textures is from a grafitti park in Berlin, the other is from a wall in Prague. And the camera is in London :)
