Angels & Demons

Posted on Fri 20th Oct, 2006, 4:27pm

ISO: 100, Shutter speed: 1/13, Aperture: f/2,
Camera: Canon EOS 20D, Flash: Yes, Cropping: None,
Lens: Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L, Focal length: 35mm,
Captured: 27th August 2006, 8:04pm,

This is one of the shots from the Notting Hill Carnival that I dismissed at first but going back through them the other day I dug out a few that I decided to try to process.

They were sitting outside a church and the guy with his hand up said "make sure you get all of Jesus in the frame." But I had a non-zooming lens attached and I couldn't move about much due to the crowds, so I lied and said he was in the frame. I felt bad about it afterwards.

Prefer Mr Cool on the left, nice portraits.

I like the mono processing here a lot it really fits the image, what I can't adjust to is the motion blur (?) on the person on the left . Its a bit distracting to me.

Sys - that's the one thing I'd change if I could. It was very dark and the flash was only working in fill mode rather than being the primary source of light, so it only froze the motion a bit, leaving some blurring.

Fine portrait, nice toning and is that a hint of an added texture I see? Very interesting shot, I've been staring at it for some time now.

First sight I thought it was Pete Waterman and hopefully Lee Perry too. The added texture works well in your previous shot and this one.
