Untitled #49

Posted on Thu 22nd Mar, 2007, 12:11am

ISO: 100, Shutter speed: 1/1000, Aperture: f/8,
Camera: Canon EOS 20D, Flash: None, Cropping: None,
Lens: Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L, Focal length: 35mm,
Captured: 11th March 2007, 2:36pm,

This is the old WWII aerodrome up the road from my parents' house. I spotted this father and son (at least I presume they were) sharing some time as I was out walking the other day.

The simplicity of this shot really appeals to me. I don't think it would work without the subtle, wispy clouds in the sky. I like the toning too. Good stuff.

Everything looks so peaceful and calm, and there's a wonderful sense of scale thanks to the inclusion of those visitors.

Yes, the starkness and muted colour works well.

I like the tones but I'm a bit scared for the little boy standing on what looks like the edge of a 10ft drop!

I like the simplicity of the shot a lot, I going to go against the grain here and say I am not so sure on the toning, it just looks a bit too overyly green for my taste. Also a wee bit of a crop on the bottom might have helped.

Agree with the above the simplicity works well, nice subdued colours too.
