BDC V Week: Peaceful Protest

Posted on Sat 17th Dec, 2005, 1:41am

ISO: 100, Shutter speed: 1/160, Aperture: f/5,
Camera: Canon EOS 20D, Flash: None, Cropping: 50%,
Lens: Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 EX DC, Focal length: 50mm,
Captured: 10th December 2005, 12:40pm,

I think this is the last of the BDC shots that I'm gonna put up. It's the same marchers as the shot I put up the other day, but shot on a different road. This was the first time we encountered them.

I've spent the last few days tying to get the processing right and I've come to the conclusion that it's technically a rubbish photo and there's not much I can do to make it look better. However I still like the moment that was captured and that's why I'm using it.

The protestor's hand was the most annoying thing. I wanted to bring out more detail and contrast in it but everything I did just gave it a halo. Gave up in the end.

By the way Jamey. I think this is a strong shot- the plods nicely frame the yout and their expressions are almost smirkish- strongest thing youve posted up from your Brighton series. Nice peice of documentary
