Street Lights... They're The Only Lights You Know

Posted on Fri 21st Oct, 2005, 8:28pm

ISO: 100, Shutter speed: 25 secs, Aperture: f/10,
Camera: Canon EOS 20D, Flash: None, Cropping: None,
Lens: Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6, Focal length: 18mm,
Captured: 21st October 2005, 9:31pm,

Continuing the orange series and adding an autumnal twist.

As I said, I seem to be spending a lot of time viewing the world bathed in orange light and I quite like the way things look. It definitely has a certain quality.

Unfortunately it's usually pretty tricky to capture that quality with a camera but that's where tripods come in. Bless their little cotton socks (all three of 'em).

I'm afraid there's not much of a story behind this pics. It's the pavement just outside my house. Bit of a lazy shot, in that sense.

Street lights - orange ones are SOX as in Sodium Oxide at low pressure - the gas in the envelope which gives the lamp its orange glow ... and accounts for the monochromatic effect ! Sorry thought you might like to know why your world is orange ! Best wishes, V...

Back to form. Love the orange hue here. Amazing how something as simple as leaves on a road can be so... though provoking.

I agree with Milou - reminds me of the season of going into work in moderate light and leaving in darkness, but I like that :) It does have a warmth about it that I like.

i don't believe it's lighting, it's the fact you have golden pavements 'round your way!
